Youth Escort Policy

Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult (21 years and older) after 6pm, Thursday through Sunday — and may be asked to present a valid ID. The adult must be present for the duration of the visit and may escort up to four young people. To review our youth escort policy, visit Millennium Park Rules.

Minors under 18 that have an ice skating session reservation will be allowed to enter the ice rink area for their skating session with proof of reservation.

Ice skating at the McCormick Tribune Ice Rink in Millennium Park returns November 17 through March 3 (weather permitting). DCASE presents free skating lessons (reservations required) from 9-10am on most Saturdays and Sundays, teaching beginner and intermediate ice skating and hockey skills. Free lessons are made possible by the McDonald’s Active Lifestyles Endowment managed by the Millennium Park Foundation. Reserve your Free Online Tickets.

Admission is free, but online tickets are required. Price for skate rental is listed below. Ticketed Ice-Skating Sessions are 90-minutes and start at 11am, 1pm, 3pm, 5pm, 7pm & 9pm Monday-Sunday.

Weather

The ice rink is open daily depending on weather. Closures due to severe weather will be posted on Millennium Park's facebook and twitter pages. This information is not posted here.

Skating Sessions Nov. 17, 2023 – March 3, 2024:

Session 1: 11am-12:30pm

Session 2: 1-2:30pm

Session 3: 3-4:30pm

Session 4: 5-6:30pm

Session 5: 7-8:30pm

Reservation dates are released 2 weeks in advance of session date.

Limited walk-up reservations may be available based on capacity. You may have wait for next session with available capacity.

Learn To Skate

DCASE presents free skating lessons (reservations required), teaching beginner and intermediate skaters of any age, ice skating and hockey skills. Skate rental is Free for the lessons.

9-10am most Saturdays and Sundays.

Helmets are strongly encouraged for beginner skaters.

  • Please Note: Session capacity is limited. A select number of reservation types are available. If your reservation type is unavailable, please check back to see if spots open. Reservation types may sell out. Sold out sessions will not appear on the reservable list.
  • No Refunds. All Sales are Final.
  • No Transfer or changes of dates or session times – double check the date and time that you have selected, before purchasing your rental reservation. Reservations are tickets to a specific date, time and reservation type.
  • There is no waitlist.
  • Session Cancellation - If the session you have reserved is cancelled by Management (weather, emergency, safety issues) you will be notified of cancelation via email. If you are considering making reservations, you can check social media (@millenniumpark) for cancelation updates. Updates will only be posted if the session is canceled. The website will also not allow bookings if it is canceled.

Snacks and hot drinks will be available from Momentum Coffee and Millennium Hall next to the skating rink.

Wheelchairs, electric and manual, are allowed on the ice.
